Surviving a break-up is never easy, but by no means is it impossible! There are no magic answers to automatically getting over someone, but there are a few tips you can follow in order to help you survive a break up. Here are a few ways to turn a negative time into personal development and self-improvement.

Sweat it out - According to the wife of an allegedly philandering world class athlete, the secret is this: Don’t get mad, get beautiful. While she may have been endorsing a quick fix to a better body, we advice the old fashioned, and more cost-effective exercise. Working out is a good way to release tension and anger and also to get your mind off things even for an hour or so each day. You’ll have that body you’ve always wanted in no time!

Adult Education - If there is something you have always wanted to spend time doing but never felt like you had any because you were too busy in your relationship, now is the time to get crackin’! Single life may actually open doors for you in terms of career growth or learning a new skill.

Reflect - Writing for personal reasons is underrated. Many think that diary writing is a childish activity, but on the contrary, pouring out your thoughts and feelings is a very grown up thing to be able to do. You’ll be surprised at how much you will get to know yourself through his exercise and reading it months later will give you a glimpse of how far you have come.

Pack your bags - What better time to travel than now that you have no one you need to think of but yourself. Seeing the world, or even just your own country will do wonders for you, as you will see just how small a part this whole break-up probably is in the grand scheme of things. If long-haul travel is not possible, explore your city. Visit spots you’ve always wanted to and never had time to.

Spend time with loved ones - Just because your ex told you he no longer loves you doesn’t mean nobody does! There are still many people in your life who will always be there for you no matter what so now is the time to touch base and spend quality time with them again.
