- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 big onion (chopped)
- ginger slices
- sili leaves
- 1 kilo of clams
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- dash of black pepper
- 2-3 teaspoons of sugar
- 2 cups of water

Sauté garlic, onion and ginger in 1 tbsp of canola oil, then put the clams, leaves and 1/4 tsp of salt. Put 2 cups of water then cover for 2-3 minutes or until the shells are wide opened. A dash of black pepper and 2-3 tsp of sugar will make it sweet and more spicy. If you like to have more soup, you can add another 1-2 cups of water and adjust the seasonings according to your taste.
