Don't Like Water? Here's What You Should Drink
Hello ,
You've started to drink more water since the start of the week, and it's certainly a great habit to pick on your way to lose weight. Now, you might be wondering, is there anything else to drink besides water?
If, by now, you need a bit more variety in your drinking options, you can count on tea! Tea contains caffeine, which gives helps speed up your metabolism, burning more calories. Tea also aids in digestion, and helps curb that bloated feeling after a meal. As always, moderation is key—keep to 3 or 4 cups a day at most.
Tea helps you drink more water Tea helps you to drink more water just by providing a different taste. Obviously, it is best that you take tea without sugar. If you are used taking it with sugar, try gradually decreasing the amount of sugar that you add to tea, until you reach the point where you feel you can comfortably drink totally unsweetened tea. An 8 oz cup of tea contains 3 calories at most, all of which is burned by holding the cup in your hand.
If you have the habit of drinking sweet drinks, gradually replace those drinks with tea, which has much less calories. A cup of tea works just as well to stave away hunger pangs until mealtime.
There are thousands of different types of tea, a broad category itself is the famous green tea, which is rich in antioxidants. Green tea contains polyphenols and flavonoids that help fight against free radicals (which speed up the aging process), cardiovascular disease, and cancer.
However, it does not "melt fat" as some marketing ploys would lead you to believe. While it does aid weight loss by improving digestion, it is by no means a magic potion. Tea can be an effective supplement to exercise and a balanced diet.
What about flavored water? You may have surely seen some type of flavored water on grocery store shelves. Certain popular bottled water brands have launched their own lines, featuring flavors such as strawberry, raspberry, grape, peach, or lemon, just to name a few.
Flavored water may seem like another appealing alternative if you aren't too crazy about the taste (or lack thereof) of plain water. Keep in mind that not all flavored water is alike, so you must check the calories and the amount of sugar or sweetener used in a particular brand.
Still, if flavored water weans you off from soda, iced tea, and fruit drinks, consider it a better alternative, as it generally contains far less calories.
Advice from the experts Here is my recipe for house iced tea-- it is tastier if you let the tea steep in the fridge. Put 10 grams of green tea in 1 liter of cold water, and leave it for 8 to 10 hours in the fridge, and voila, you have refreshing and healthy iced tea!
You can also use fruit-infused green teas to notch up the flavor!
