Hi Belles!
The long weekend holiday is now over. How was your diet for the past 4 days? Share your own food trips here and tell us how are you planning to recover from your long long DIET CHEAT weekend.
Ooops! By the way, another long weekend is upcoming. What are your plans?

It's interesting to read about your experience and I see that my dieting is not so different. Sometimes I just love to eat some sweets, eg I got a serenata chocolate box for valentine's day... I just ate one piece of it and shared the rest with my friends. I was happy, they were happy... it was ok after all :) |

@ Charmaine and Laarni: I just don't do these cheats (this big, I mean) often. I don't force myself to skip meals either...if I feel hungry, I'll eat something light, but I'd never starve myself. I learned my lesson, because when I used to do so, I'd suffer from gas. And it also helps that my family chooses to get a few dessert items and then we just share...and I make my two brothers eat most of it. We all love to eat too, but we also try to keep it in check. @ Jana: Because we know that carbs make you full easily at buffets, and you want more room for the more expensive stuff (beef, lamb, salmon, tuna, duck foie gras....)
I'm going to pick up 12 mini-cakes this next long weekend from a Deal Grocer deal I got, uh-oh! |

I just weighed myself and I'm 101 lbs, which is not bad considering the amount of alcohol and fried food I've consumed over the past few days. I've also eaten at Escolta and Circles (both buffets) but had minimal carbs during both meals (as if it makes a difference) If its any consolation, I worked out on Monday and thats about it. Having my boyfriend around makes my life 10x more unhealthier. |

@ terry: Wow what a great weekend with great food and Jason Mraz! Hindi halatang malakas ka kumain :D As for me, I didn't get to "cheat" so much during the long weekend because I'm mostly asleep (hello 10 hours of snooze time!). But I felt too lazy and sluggish so yesterday I went to the gym. |

I am currently paying for all my excessive whatever over the long weekend sick in bed. :( Does not having an apetite count as a natural way of losing (again)? hehehe! hopefully when i have an apetite again, i will go back to eating regularly and well. *fingers crossed* |

The few days before the long weekend, I was already being cautious of my diet, knowing what was coming up ahead! Saturday: I treated my family at Circles for my parents' wedding anniversary. I had an embarrassing amount of foie gras (to get my money's worth hehe), lamb chops, prime rib, Yorkshire pudding, barbecued beef and pork, grilled vegetables (kunwari lang), salmon sashimi, red wine, crème brûlée, chocolate tart, chocolate mousse, crystal tart, chocolate chip cookie passed under the chocolate fountain, mango crepe with chocolate and crème anglaise, ube ice cream, and coffee. Sunday: Chicken sandwich (without mayo) and crisscut fries from Burger King (fast food Monday Met my friends at Old Swiss Inn, where we had cheese fondue, and I had vegetable roesti, which was fried potatoes covered in gruyere cheese. I had red wine again. Then we went to the Peninsula Lobby, where I had a wonderful chocolate crunch (all by myself!), coffee, and some of my friends' chocolate fondue. I also took home a peanut butter cupcake and chocolate chip cookie that I shared with my family. Later that night, we shared dessert again (Mango Royale from Kitchen's Best) and then I ate too many Cheetos at the cemetery. Tuesday I was supposed to start avoiding dessert, but I had a handful of peanut butter M&M's. Wednesday I had Cheetos again before dinnertime.
For the rest of the week, I'll be avoiding dessert and limiting my refined carbs too. For this next weekend, I'm hoping to just stay at home so I won't be faced with any temptation. |
