my weight loss tips/eating plans

I became unhappy with my weight about year ago as I began my sophomore year of college. I decided to lose weight when I started wearing a pant size in the high double digits and when I noticed that while walking (even short distances), I always had a shortness of breath. The most challenging was giving up certain foods that I loved eating that weren't good for me.

Here are some of my weight loss tips: Drink lots of water, Count your calories and eat healthy meals, Exercise, be consistent and push yourself. Don't weigh yourself everyday because you may get discouraged and always remember your goal.

Here are some of my eating plans: For breakfast I used to eat Oatmeal or a Special K cereal bar or yogurt or fruits. Lunch is Grilled chicken salad with fat free dressing or a sandwich with turkey, lettuce and tomatoes or some boiled eggs. Dinner is a grilled chicken with mixed vegetables. For snacks I ear fiber one bars, fruits, or just yogurt.

I hate workouts but I need them so I do basic weight training workouts and I do cardio 5 days a week for about 2 hours a day (power walking on treadmill with an incline and the elliptical machine). I go for about 3 miles.

I also tried this program here http://tiny.cc/v8tka I'm really glad it’s a big help especially for my stomach. I still have a little more body fat to lose but for me I see this program helpful and effective. I really enjoyed the exercise routines, and have adapted them to work out at home.

I've tried the general motors diet last december. With this diet, rice is recommended only for a particular day. I've lost 7 lbs that week. I'm doing it again in february. Hopefully, it will help me again in losing some weight. Now, i eat rice only on weekends when i'm at home. I take a cup or two per day. I feel lighter

with this routine and i hope i can still continue or perhaps lessen rice consumption more.

I don't agree with rebecca - surgery should be reserved ONLY when other clinical measures failed and a person has no psychological issues. If a person is obese, it's very often because s/he has an eating disorder. Unless the psychological problem is treated, the surgery won't help. I worked as a medical secretary for a physician specializing in weight issues and I saw patients with bad eating patterns and food addictions who lost some weight right after the surgery (because you are on liquid diet for some time) and then after recovery, they gained all the lost weight back. If no eating disorder problem is envolved, then just cleaning someone's diet, i.e. including more raw fruit and veggies and cutting out all processed and junk food, including sodas, white flour, white rice and bread and going on mostly plant-based diet is enough to make your body fat go down. Highly raw vegan diet is what works the best because it removes bad cholesterol, diminishes insuline resistance while sky-rocketting the life-energy.

Its true that following regular controlled diet and performing exercise can somehow helps in reducing weight but in the case of excessive weight problems these things proves not so much efficient. Obesity can be controlled and you can have the perfect body structure by going through the lap band surgery. But one must follow post gastric lap band surgery diet alloted by the physician to get well soon and maintain the body mass.
