My uric acid is above normal. Is it ok for me to eat cereals and wheat bread

Hi there! For people with high uric acid levels, it is not advisable to eat whole grain products. Choose white breads and plain unfrosted cereals instead.

Is it true that sweating a lot does not necessarily means that you're burning many calories?

is it ok if im not following all d meal plans.. minsan ngssustitute ksi ako... tapos ask ko lang din... im super bc with my work and i find it hard 2 exercise.. super lamig kasi d2 samin im near tagaytay... and im  not losing weight pero d gud thing is im not gaining... my bday will b on april and i prmse myself to lose weight as a bday gft...:)  sana magawa ko...

Yes, it's fine to not strictly follow the meal plans, depending on your preferences or schedule. The meal plans are more like guidelines on how to eat healthy and balanced meals.

As for me, I actually prefer exercising when it's cold because I find it more comfortable (I don't sweat as much) while doing so.

hi! would it be possible to restart my meal plan? i have not been able to do it religiously...somthing like 2 - 3x a week only. also, is it okay if i follow the gym program i have instead of the exercises? i try to have some sort of exercise in between like badminton or brisk walking on the treadmill.

thanks!

I can restart it for you, but that'll mean you'll start the program next Monday all over again. I just suggest that you can continue as you wish, and check back in the archives for ideas. You don't have to follow the meals religiously, but they're good guidelines for having a balanced diet.

But, anyway, let me know if you really want the restart.

As for the exercises, it's no problem at all if you follow your gym program.

 Hi Victoria!

Thanks for the welcome, as it means a lot!

The site was recommended to me by a Filipino friend and although I havent started my plan (I get the first week on Monday I believe) I really like the site and the sisterhood. I also love Asian food. I find it much more healthy than typical american fare :) Lots of fish and rice and veggies!

that's all for now! I just wanted to say Hello!

Thanks

Cara

Thanks for the kind words, Cara. Hope to see you around, and remember, we're all here for you.

I'm noticing many new members from different countries here. Welcome!

Just a note, since the meal plans here were originally adapted for the Philippine market, you are free to substitute those Filipino dishes mentioned for equivalent dishes that you prefer.

Feel free to ask about them here, and we'll help you out.

hi! is it possible to know the no. of calories for every meal? it  would be very helpful to know how much calories i would be consuming each day. thanks.

The snacks have about 100-200 calories, and so each meal should have roughly 300-400 calories, if you allow yourself 1/2 cup of the listed viands, and you can go up to 1 cup for the vegetables. A total of about 1,500 calories per day.

Some calorie counts for staple food:
- 1/2 cup of rice = 150 calories
- 1 cup of low-fat milk = a 100-110 calories
- 1 piece of whole wheat bread = 100 calories

Here's an article for the calories in Filipino food.
