Too much vitamins and medicines...

My brother had a 9 month old baby, and I had a 2 year old son, we both go to our doctors everymonth for our babies monthly check up. My brother's doctor is more like an American style doctor, My doctor is more local and she's Chinese so more or less she knows some Chiense Tradition and know which one is ok which one is not.
Well as per my Bro, his doctor said there's no need for any vitamins for his baby leave everything to nature. If the baby has LBM for example, just ask him to drink water or some hydrate medicine I think to sto pthe child from dehydration.
As for me, my doctor always gives vitamins for my son to drink every day, on top of that I am also going to a Chinese doctor so that means additional medicines again also for my baby, we have a medicine he should take when he got scared or like fell when he is playing to ease his nerves. my doctor just said it's ok since it's a usual chinese tradition. Since most of the Chinese medicine are suggestions of my in laws of course she's asking also the Chinese doctor first. but at some point I'm scared that it might be too much for my baby. Well most say Chinese medicine is just herbs so there's really no side effects but I really don't know.
Anyways, there's a case where in my bro said his baby got LBM for 2 weeks or more and still his doctor did not prescribe any medicine, at least if it's this long the doctor should at least prescribe a medicine? I don't know.
On my experience with my doctor my son once had LMB also and she asked us to have his stool exam and also drink plenty of water, plus apple, then if worst comes to worst she did prescribe a medicine, but that's the last resort.
Well different doctors have different styles... it's just so weird or it's just that we are used to vitamins and medicine?

hmm...LBM for two weeks is very alarming...stool exam is important so as to know what causes it and what type of meds to be given...poor baby! |
