hi. im new here and i hope you could help me..
I've been asthmatic since childhood and i've been banned from strenous activities: exercises, sports...etc... one of my doctors even refrained me from lists of foods to avoid (where most of it are my favorites!!) and laughing hard..haha...yes, my doctor advised me that. so i grew up not into exercising, swimming, or any other kind of sports..and if i try to, i do get asthma attacks. In other words, i have lived a sedentary life...
my bmi may be at the normal scale but i can see all of the excess fats in my body.example.. im neither a liquor drinker nor a soda drinker but i do have a belly fat...a very round belly fat..not the bilbil type, but the beer belly type.. im not even pregnant but i do look like one..i know that i am unhealthy...
another thing I have a very complicated family history, my mom is diabetic and hypertensive; my dad is asthmatic, has angina, and was diagnosed with parkinsons disease lately; and my grandfather died of pancreatic cancer... then I just realized one day, that i am at a very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, veeeerrrryyyy high risk of getting all of these.. i already got asthma from my father and i'm afraid of getting the others and then pass it again to my children.... now, could you imagine if i have all of these diseases at the same time i could be in the guinness book of world records being the most "diseased" person in the world!
these are the reasons why i joined belle...to find friends who could help me, and motivate me deal with these matters... i hope you could help me because its starting to make me anxious and insecure....
thanks!

Hi Yumi18! first of all, welcome to BelleToday! i hope that your needs are addressed on our website and that you gain the support that you need. second, asthma is a little threatening but there are actually exercises that can help build your lungs and prevent this. Otherwise, I have read that for as long as the activity is short (10mins), then it is still possible to get the exercise that you need. do you at least get to enjoy swimming with friends? a few laps or breathing exercises under water might help. again, welcome! xxx g |

hi yumi18. i have 3 kids aged:18, 16 & 13. i really encourage my family to have a healthy lifestyle by setting a good example. i do aerobic exercise 3x a wk., i cook & eat healthy foods & our family is taking a complete food supplement w/c helped us cope w/everyday stress from work, school and home. Actually we are also a "high risk" disease family. You name it, one of our family members or generations/descendants have it! I was even diagnosed w/lupus 2003 but now! i'm free from medications. Our family is enjoying a QUALITY OF LIFE coz we are healthier now than we are before. If your interested on how to avoid or prevent yourself in being a high risk candidate of your family's diseases u may email me at:ricaharder@yahoo.com. i'm very passionate in sharing to as many people as i can how our family's lives was changed. This is a blessing in disguise for our family. |

Hi yumi18 as what i know in asthma it is only 10% you can get in foods and it is important for the asthmatic person to do some activities like swimming and kick boxing to increase your stamina it is important to convert your attention to a sports. That was great for you and your health. |
