Swimming is one of the most complete sports there is. It gradually works and tones all the muscles of the body. It is the ideal sport if you have joint problems, as the body is continually surrounded and supported by water.

Swimming has many benefits—it helps the cardiovascular system and the lungs, as you learn how to pace your breathing. One hour of swimming burns between 500 and 800 calories, depending on the intensity of the exercise and the weight of the individual. To avoid fatigue or plateaus, alternate your strokes—breaststroke, crawl, butterfly, freestyle, backstroke….

Tips:
- 2 sessions of 10 laps a week at beginner level
- 2 sessions of 25 laps a week at intermediate level
- 2 sessions of 35 laps a week at advanced level
